What "safe to spend" actually means

The gauge on your home screen isn’t a balance. Here’s what it tracks, how the pace marker works, and why there’s no bank connection.

Open Prsperous and the first thing you see is a gauge, not a balance. That’s on purpose. Your account balance tells you what’s there right now; the safe-to-spend number tells you what you can actually spend without borrowing from tomorrow.

The gauge starts each period full and drains as it gets used. Behind it sits a pace marker: a quiet line showing where you’d be if you spent evenly across the period. Fall behind the marker and you’re saving faster than planned; race ahead of it and Prsperous lets you know before the shortfall becomes a surprise.

You can view the same number three ways: today, this week, and this month. Today keeps you honest in the moment. This week smooths out the noise of one heavier grocery day. This month is the number that matters most, because it already accounts for the bills still coming and the goals you’re saving toward, projected across the weeks ahead.

None of this requires a bank connection. You enter your monthly take-home pay and your current balance once, and Prsperous does the rest: no statements to import, no logins to hand over. Just two numbers, and one clear answer to the only question that matters: what’s safe to spend today?

Prsperous gives you tools and clarity, not financial advice.
